Creating new habits to incorporate into your day has a slew of benefits. The best part is these habits can work for any season of life. Creating small, manageable changes will give you a sense of accomplishment.

Tip #1 - Daily devotional

Life is busy! Incorporating a daily devotional into your day is one healthy habit you will reap benefits.

  • Sets the mood for the day

  • Encourages gratitude

  • Provides faith and wisdom to tackle problems the day may bring

Tip #2 - Schedule to-do's in a planner or app calendar

Whether you prefer to write things down in a physical planner or your Outlook calendar is glued to you, get it on the schedule: It is one less thing for your brain to try and remember.

"What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while".

Tip #3 - Daily walk

I have always liked the idea of walking but have always struggled to incorporate it into my life. I made the decision every- single- day to silence the inner voice that was telling me to chill. Before I knew it, one day turned into two, then three. Three days then turned into three months! I'm still going strong today! Here's what I noticed:

  •  Increased energy levels

  • Toner appearance of the body

  • Elevated mood

  • A sense of accomplishment

  • Increased drive to tackle other goals

  • An increased appreciation for the good people in this world (thanks to all my fellow, friendly, walking neighbors who wave, smile, and nod)

Tip #4 - Make your bed

(Do not be afraid to make your bed and wash those bed sheets regularly)

Are you someone who makes their bed in the morning? Research has shown that it has many benefits. Individuals who make their bed are more likely to:

  • eat a well-balanced diet

  • exercise regularly

  • better sleep

Tip #5 - Drink Water

A healthy body and mind go together. Here are a few benefits of drinking water:

  • Staying well hydrated may keep urinary tract infections at bay

  • Kidneys function better

  • Better cognitive functioning

  • Better mood

Don’t Forget to try at least one of these healthy habits

It's the small, everyday habits that make an impact on our day. It doesn't take much to get the ball of momentum rolling. Once that ball starts going, you better be ready to watch areas of your life lean into some wins!
